Galgorm youths aim fireworks at cars

YOUTHS in the Galgorm area have been aiming fireworks at passing cars, and police say they have spoken to almost 20 young people in relation to the attacks.
Ballymena police are appealing to young people misusing Fireworks in the Galgorm area of the town to stop before someone is injured.
The warning follows a number of reports about fireworks being directed at cars. Police say that they have responded to the problem and have reported one youth for various offences in relation to firework misuse.
A further 17 young people have been reported to the PSNI's Youth Diversion Officer, and parents have also been informed of why their children have come to the attention of police.
Neighbourhood Inspector Pete Bouma said, "We have taken a very robust approach to these reports, and are urging parents make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing. We also want anyone who knows where these illegal fireworks are being sold to contact us on 0845 600 800 or the 'Crimestoppers' Charity on 0800 555 111".
