The Presbyterian Church in Ireland has launched a church-wide special appeal for Nepal and is immediately releasing £60,000 (€83,740) to support the international relief effort in the wake of last weekend’s devastating earthquake.
In a letter to all ministers across Ireland, launching his special Moderator’s Appeal for Nepal, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Michael Barry said: “Given the scale of this disaster and having consulted with colleagues, I have launched a special Moderator’s Appeal towards the emergency relief effort, and would take the opportunity to encourage our members to respond in a generous and timely way, just as they have on many previous occasions.”
